Upstalsboom Hotelresidenz & Spa Kühlungsborn – Kühlungsborn, DE
Holistic planning and development of a hotel and spa in the Baltic Sea municipality Kühlungsborn.
At the end of 2007, when the property owners of the old Kurhaus in Kühlungsborn asked Horwath HTL for support, there was still a ruin on this unique plot in the first row to the Baltic Sea. This last gap on the promenade of Kühlungsborn was supposed to be filled – a project that had failed several times in the past. The team of Horwath HTL first revised the concept in order to make it economically and touristic viable. In close consultation with the municipality, the planning law was adapted. Existing bat quarters and the desired transformation of the forest to restore the historic park complex required elaborate environmental considerations.
Furthermore, an investor and an operator could be won over for the project and the respective negotiations could be supported technically. This was followed by the demolition, the planning support, sample room management as well as the further execution support and defect inspections for acceptance and handover to the operator. In short: Horwath HTL was here from A to Z!
The grand opening was celebrated in April 2011. The hotel impresses with sophisticated luxury, exquisite food and relaxation from head to toe. On 1,300m², a BALTIC SPA was created, which reflects the natural habitat of the Baltic Sea.
