Overview

The Hohenlohe Tourism Association has asked Prof. Dr. Christian Buer to develop a tourism concept for the natural paradise of Hohenlohe. The project focus of the tourism project “Nature Paradise Hohenlohe” is the development of the region as a “tourist destination”. The basis of the tourist development as a “natural paradise” was the obligatory building block of the landscape brand and destination project “Green Baden- Württemberg” of the Tourismus Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg (TMBW).

Solution

The objective is to take stock of the tourism offers and marketing opportunities in the Hohenlohe region with the sub-project “”Glass Bioenergy Village Siebeneich””. Based on this, the strengths and weaknesses of the Bretzfeld sub-village are incorporated by means of a potential analysis and opportunities for the Hohenlohe region are determined. The results of the analysis and the opportunities to be derived from it form the basis for branding, the aim of which is to position the region as an independent tourist destination within the TMBW network and its sub-projects.
The goal of the multi-stage process with the client was to deepen research results and to develop and concentrate results that the Hohenlohe region will use as a basis for the marketing strategy and concept to be formulated.

Implementation

Initial approaches to tourism development have already been implemented in subprojects. These are mobility (=reduction of CO2 during arrival and departure), creation of leisure facilities (=offers in the countryside), gastronomy and accommodation (=further development of “”Genussregion Hohenlohe””), integration of agriculture, forestry and winegrowing as tourism service providers (e.g. holidays on farms, forest programs, marketing of the wine region (e.g. Kochertal, Siebeneicher Himmelreich), cycling and cycling tours and hiking. e.g. farm vacations, forest programs, marketing of the wine region (e.g. Kochertal, Siebeneicher Himmelreich), cycling and hiking trails, authentic Hohenlohe (“”Typically Hohenlohe”” = holistic development of the tourist awareness of the people concerned).
The sub-project “”Glass Bioenergy Village”” was also realized.
